Island Krk has many great locations for diving. Before diving you will have to buy diving licence. According the law(2003.) divers can dive in diving club or individualy. The cost of license in diving club is cca 14,00 Euros. Most attractive locations are:
Wreck Peltastis -Old greek cargo ship (made 06.03.1952.), sunk in late 1968, crashed into cliffs near the Klimno scove. The length of the ship is 60m and maximum depth is 31m. The bow mast of the ship is at 8m, the stern mast at 12m, and bow at depth of 17m, bridge at 21 m, propeller at depth of 31m. It is mostly mid visibility, but it dependes a lot on the weather conditions, and it can significantly get worse because of minor storm. An underwater lamp is obligatory part of the diving equipment. Possibility of light streaming.
Punta Silo - Also the position which enables extraordinary dives, as for the beginners and also for the experienced divers. Reef begins at 14m, and maximal depth is 35m. Combination of send and rocky bottom. At the very beginning of the position there is a wall up to 14m in depth, arter which send plateau follows aprox. 20m long and again the wall continues with shady bulges up to 35m in depth. The position is plentiful with various sea snails, fishes, octopuses…
St Marak - Wall is going down from 18 to its maximum 22 meters. This position is famous for its fly fishes and octopuses. After enjoying the live beauty of the wall, there is a sugar on the end: small fisherman boat lying down at 18 meters under entrance to small underwater cave. On the way back, just before exiting try to find small, low passage at 3 meters, that is really colourful and it would be pity to miss.
Vrbnik cave - The position is located close to the cove in front of the town Vrbnik at the island of Krk. Dive is above the very entrance to the cave at 15 m, in front of the entrance to the cave the bottom is covered with sand, while in the cave itself the bottom consists of the mixture of sand and silt, and it is necessary to enter very carefully so that the visibility would not get significantly worse.
Tenki reef - Top of the reef is at only 3 m under sea surface, after which there is a possibility for diving to 40 m in depth, while at 9 m of depth there is a tunnel 5 m long, with possibility of passing through for a pair of divers. It is very important to mention that this tunnel serves not only for passing through, but at very entrance takes breath away with beautiful plant cover and little caves, which are very often settled with conger eels and gropers.
Kamenjak – Extraordinary position with two reefs in the distance of 25 m. The first reef, whose top is above the sea surface, is the position with diving possibilities up to 25 m. It is overfull of various cuttings, it is rich in first class sorts of fishes, crabs, numerous sea snails and octopuses. The second reef, 25 m afar from the first one, is also very interesting position. It starts at 2 m in depth and stretches to 35 m in depth.
Glavina - Beautiful position, especially for diving lovers in 'blue', because the top of one of the two cathedrals is at 25 m depth. As we already stressed, on this position there are two reefs.
