|
A lmost every city on island has own walking routes and promenades.
Here we will introduce most interesting routes. |
OMISALJ - PARK DUBEC
Dubec Park stretches from the walls of Omišalj to the sea, an area of approximately 18 000 sq m with 995 meters of groomed pathways. The special charm of the steep terrain is provided by auxiliary lanes (poprečice) and stairs about 300 m long. The arrangement of the park began in 1925, and was financed by the then Bathing Commission. Construction works including interruptions lasted for about three years. Planting of conifers and evergreen plants lasted until World War II. The particularity of the park is in its completely preserved nature enriched by trails, rest areas, lookouts and newly planted vegetation. Therefore, Dubec is a model example of the natural park, created by thoughtful, patient and systematic human labour. |
