Kosljun is small island in Punat bay off the coast of Krk. It is approximately 300 meters in diameter and covers an area of 6.5 hectares. The only inhabitants are a group of Franciscan monks living in St. Mary's Monastery. There are no beaches and there is no swimming on Kosljun, and guests are instructed to dress politely. Local boats often connect Punat and Island Kosljun. Boat ride last aproximately 10 minutes.
On island is also a library with over 30,000 books, some of them as old as the monastery itself. Other buildings of interest include The Church of Mary’s Annunciation and The Church of St. Bernardino. The age of the first one is about half of a millennium, and the second one is even older.
